UNICEF’s supply and logistics headquarters – Supply Division – is located in Copenhagen, which is also home to the largest humanitarian warehouse in the world. About a half of the 1000 colleagues are housed in Supply Division, Copenhagen with areas of expertise including logistics, procurement, warehouse management, product innovation, market insights, finance, pharma, nutrition, vaccines, cold chain and health technologies and engineering. Over 1000 colleagues work in the Supply Function across 97 countries and 173 offices and form the Supply Community.

Procurement Services Centre (PSC) is responsible for general policy oversight on Procurement Services activities and providing partnership, coordination and monitoring support to Supply Division Centers and Country Offices working on Procurement Services activities.

How can you make a difference?

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for sustaining the collaboration and contribute towards building strategic partnership with St Jude Global and the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM) current and new partners. The incumbent will also be responsible for the development and design of relevant communication materials, development and dissemination of monitoring and reporting materials to partners and provide guidance to UNICEF country offices and regional offices on Procurement Services partnerships. The incumbent will support the development of agreements with partners, be expected to occasionally represent UNICEF in engagements with the partners and participate in partnership negotiations and meetings.

Under the supervision of Chief, Procurement Services Centre, the incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Provide tailored partnership advice to Supply Division (SD) Country and Regional Offices on Procurement Services (PS) partnership management, including specific advice on relationship management, development of new and maintenance of existing global health partnerships.
  2. Support development and dissemination of communication material relevant to Procurement Services partnership management.
  3. Develop analysis and opinion papers for management on matters related to Procurement Services strategy, and projects.
  4. Manage the preparation of Memorandums of Agreements, including background documentation and materials for implementation of partnerships, support complex business negotiations involving several parties.
  5. Support the review and implementation of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key partners.
  6. Establish partner specific monitoring tools as required and provide quality assurance monitoring materials in partnership with external partners.
  7. Provide advice on use of partnership management and opportunities for resource mobilization.
  8. Develop training and knowledge sharing on Procurement Services, particularly with regards to partnership management to other Supply Division Centres and UNICEF regional and country office colleagues.
  9. Coordinate Procurement Services projects and build strategic partnerships with internal and external counterparts as may be relevant.
  10. Participate in partner meetings, workshops and business seminars organized by Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM) and/or external partners, including presentation of data and representation of Supply Division.
  11. Other tasks as may be requested by Chief, Procurement Services and needed within the Centre.

The successful candidate will help shape UNICEF’s engagements with partners a growing priority area and will be part of highly motivated team that is works very closely with multiple partners.

 

To qualify as a advocate for every Child you will have…

Required:

  • A completed advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in Pharmacy, Medicine or medical sciences from a recognized educational institution

NOTE: *A First university degree (Bachelor’s) in Pharmacy or Medicine or related field may be acceptable in lieu of an Advanced university degree in conjunction with two additional years of relevant work experience working with global health partners in design and implementation of public health programs including  Non-Communicable Diseases.

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive work experience in designing health projects and leading negotiations, implementation and review of international business agreements for pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven expertise in procurement and project management in public and commercial medical sector.
  • Experience with and knowledge of procurement procedures in the development area, particularly knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement procedures for supplies and services.
  • Fluency in English

Desirable:

  • Experience in management of complex (multi-year, multi-country, multi-party) global health projects, resource mobilization experience, supply and transport management experience, and field postings
  • Proficiency in French

Mobility is a condition of international professional employment with UNICEF and an underlying premise of the international civil service. This position is classified as “rotational” which means the incumbent is expected to rotate to another duty station upon completion of their tour of duty.
