Patient Care Nurse Assistant- Brain Injury Day/Eve in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-3:30p/ 3p-11:30p; Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking

• Answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed).

• Performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.

Personnel PCNA will work with :

• LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Behavioral Observers, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• 19 beds

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

• Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.

• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position).

• 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
