Patient Care Nurse Assistant- Inpatient Post-Surgical/Medical Day/Eve in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-3:30p/ 7a-7:30p/ 3p-11:30p; Rotating Weekends & Holidays

All Acute Care Adult Specialty units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring capability.

Join our Adult Inpatient Post-Surgical Unit, 6 East!

Primary Patient Population:

  • Post-surgical patients from approximately 14 different service lines

  • Bariatric recovery

  • Gender Affirming procedural recovery

  • Acute Medical

Primary skills utilized/learned:

  • Monitoring and recording patient vital signs

  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

  • Performing duties as instructed by RN

Personnel RN will work with :

  • LPNs, Registered Nurses, Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

  • 34 bed spaces (14 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms)

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

  • Ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills.

  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (NOTE: Maintaining ODH Registry status as a STNA is optional after employment in this position).

  • 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
