Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate in organic chemistry, conducting research supervised by in the . This fixed-term position is funded by the Royal Society through an award entitled ‘State-Independent Electrolytes in Spin Wave Interference-Based Reservoir Computing’. The post holder will synthesise functionalised aromatic ions to investigate their phase behaviour and ionic conductivity. The materials will be studied in collaboration with Prof Takashi Tsuchiya at the National Institute of Materials Science, Japan. Further information can be found on our .RoleThe position will suit a candidate with a background primarily in synthetic chemistry with additional expertise in characterising organic materials. Experience of electrochemistry, differential scanning calorimetry and polarised optical microscopy would also be beneficial but is not essential. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide expert guidance and training of researchers engaged in other projects in the McGonigal group, and to contribute to the writing and publishing of high-quality manuscripts and disseminating the research at conferences.Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
