Peatland Survey Assistant

We are looking to appoint a confident, detail-oriented and enthusiastic people to join our
team, working within the Central Conservation team at the Gosforth Headquarters.

The aim of the Northumberland Peat Partnership is to develop a peatland restoration programme
across the partnership area, which is all of Northumberland north of the A69. The partnership
comprises of NGOs, local authorities and statutory agencies as well as land managers. Its aim
is to collectively facilitate positive management and restoration of peatland habitats across
Northumberland. The partnership, through NWT as the lead applicant, has been successful in
obtaining funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the DEFRA Nature for Climate Peatland
Discovery Grant.

The Peatland Survey Assistants will help with peatland survey as part of the Discovery Grant,
supporting the Peatland Survey Officers in the assessment of peatland sites.

The role is for 35 hours a week. The salary starts at £21,000 per annum. The contract is until
March 2025.
