Peatland Survey Officer

The aim of the Northumberland Peat Partnership is to develop a peatland restoration programme
across the partnership area, which is all of Northumberland north of the A69. The partnership
comprises of NGOs, local authorities, statutory agencies and land managers. Its aim is to
collectively facilitate positive management and restoration of peatland habitats across
Northumberland. The partnership, through NWT as the lead applicant, has been successful in
obtaining funding from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the DEFRA Nature for Climate Peatland
Discovery Grant.

The Peatland Survey Officer will lead on the peatland survey as part of the Discovery Grant,
helping to turn the results into projects that are ready for subsequent peatland restoration
funding. They are supported by the Peatland Survey Assistants and be expected to pass on their
knowledge and skills to develop these individuals for the benefit of the team.

The role is for 35 hours a week. The salary is £25,309 to £28459 per annum, contract to March
2025.
