This position is a Geographical Full-Time position with rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor based upon qualifications.The Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, CancerCare Manitoba consists of seven faculty members with active clinical and research programs in pediatric oncology, blood and marrow transplant, hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis. It is the sole Pediatric Oncology-Hematology Program seeing patients from across the Province. Our program is an active contributor to Children’s Oncology Group and other collaborative clinical group trials, has an active blood and marrow transplant program, a Royal College accredited subspecialty training program, and is well supported by all pediatric subspecialties.Qualifications:Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification (or eligibility) from the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology Oncology or equivalent is required. The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality in-patient and out-patient care to patients with malignant and hematologic disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team at the Children’s Hospital, Health Science Centre and CancerCare Manitoba. Specific expertise in pediatric hematology, including bleeding disorders, hemaglobinopathies, thrombosis, and homostasis are preferred. Other fields of expertise will be open to consideration. Distribution of clinical care, research, teaching, and administration is flexible, but it is expected the clinical component will be between 0.5-0.7 FTE. There will be opportunities for collaboration with basic and clinical researchers at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba and the Research Institute in Oncology and Hematology, a joint institute of CancerCare Manitoba and the University of Manitoba.Income and rank will commensurate with experience and qualifications and be according to the CCMB remuneration agreement.
