This is a permanent, full-time post. This post is available on either a Teaching and Scholarship or Teaching and Research contract.

Bishop Grosseteste University is located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city. In recent years we’ve undergone an explosion of growth in many areas, remaining a small and friendly university whilst expanding and developing our portfolio of courses into more exciting new areas than ever before. We still consider ourselves experts in education – we have been doing it for 160 years after all – but our teaching courses now sit alongside an exciting range of other disciplines. This is an exciting time of expansion and growth for the institution and BGU will be able to provide you with the opportunity to develop your career and contribute to our ongoing success.

We have an exciting opportunity to lead this expanding provision, which presents the chance for collaborative working and programme development.

In the role of Programme Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing the programme teams, implementing strategic developments, ensuring the smooth delivery of the programme, and assuming responsibility for the standards and quality of programme outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our established Sociology programme and the launch of our new Criminology undergraduate degree. Programme development and student recruitment are key strategic priorities within the Faculty, and we are therefore seeking a creative and ambitious applicant with drive and determination.

BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:

  • 35 days holiday for Grades 7+;
  • Plus 3 additional discretionary days annual leave over the Christmas period;
  • Various pension scheme options including a Local Government Pension Scheme offering up to a 19.5% Employer Contribution, a Teachers Pension scheme offering up to 23.68% Employer Contribution, and a 10% non-contributory pension for members of staff that do not wish to pay into a scheme;
  • Employee benefits app provided by Live Like Loyalty;
  • Cycle to Work Scheme;
  • Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme;
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme including free online GP services and face to face counselling sessions

Informal enquiries about the post may be made in the first instance to Thomasin Nicholds, Head of Programmes (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences) by email: [email protected]
