Job description

This is a post within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health’s Doctoral Academy which supports all postgraduate researchers (PGR) in the Faculty. The successful candidate will oversee and co-ordinate larger scale studentship bids, identify and target funding opportunities and work with our academic colleagues in planning, designing and monitoring PGR specialist programmes and partnerships.The postholder will maintain oversight of a number of our PhD programmes and their delivery, ensuring an excellent PGR experience. This role will be part of the Doctoral Academy management team and have line management responsibility for our Funding team to ensure compliance with external funders.We are looking for someone with strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence positively. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to multi-task and work to competing deadlines. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills in order to build strong working relationships with academic and professional services colleagues across the institution, as well as with external stakeholders.It will be advantageous for the candidate to have experience of working within higher education, ideally with an understanding of the postgraduate research and funding landscape.As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit.
