With its work, the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Decorative Crops (IGZ) contributes to a greater understanding of plant methods and thus to the event of sustainable and resilient horticulture. The IGZ conducts analysis on the interface between vegetation, people and the surroundings. In doing so, we handle systemic and international challenges comparable to biodiversity loss, local weather change, urbanization and malnutrition. We offer scientifically sound suggestions for wholesome agri-food methods and sustainable interactions with the surroundings. The IGZ brings collectively a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines. Staff with totally different backgrounds conduct analysis in nationwide and worldwide analysis co-operations. The IGZ relies in Großbeeren close to Potsdam and close to Berlin and is a member of the Leibniz Affiliation.
The next place is out there within the Institute from 01.02.2024, restricted for 3 years, inside the DFG-funded mission “Molecular Regulation and ecological penalties of chemodiversity in Solanum dulcamara”:
PhD pupil (f,m,div) in Chemical Ecology of Plant Biotic Interactions
Reference quantity: 32/2023/D
The wage can be based mostly on qualification and analysis expertise in accordance with the wage settlement TV-L, as much as pay scale 13, 65% of the common working time. The conferral of a doctorate is feasible at Friedrich Schiller College Jena.
This place can be embedded within the analysis group “Plant Biotic Interactions”, which goals to unravel the molecular and chemical mechanisms governing interactions between vegetation and organisms of their surroundings. The PhD mission is a part of the analysis unit FOR 3000 “Ecology and Evolution of Intraspecific Chemodiversity in Vegetation” (https://uni-bielefeld.de/chemodiversity/ ) comprising 9 multidisciplinary groups unfold over Germany. The intention of this PhD mission is to know how root chemodiversity in Solanum dulcamara influences belowground interactions and the way intra-individual chemodiversity is molecularly regulated.
