To help meet this challenge, the University is looking to recruit a Philanthropy Officer. This role presents an exciting opportunity for the post holder to build on their fundraising or sales experience within a dynamic and inspiring institution. Experience of working with high net worth individuals, senior management or key stakeholders will be required, as well as, the ability to form and maintain relationships with potential donors. fundraising income and helps to build a culture of philanthropy at the University of Warwick.
Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) is currently in the planning stages of a major new philanthropic campaign, which will significantly scale the ambition for the University’s fundraising activity. As a Philanthropy Officer, you will raise philanthropic gifts for the University of Warwick, primarily but not exclusively, in support of our priorities for student support and student opportunity: scholarships, widening participation, social mobility. Aiming to secure unrestricted funding, and contributing to increasing the impact and visibility of philanthropy at the University of Warwick; by establishing a culture of philanthropy, maintaining a dynamic portfolio of prospects, and ensuring appropriate stewardship of current donors and stakeholders.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE

As a Philanthropy Officer, you will raise philanthropic gifts for the University of Warwick, primarily but not exclusively, in support of our priorities for student support and student opportunity: scholarships, widening participation, social mobility. Aiming to secure unrestricted funding, and contributing to increasing the impact and visibility of philanthropy at the University of Warwick; by establishing a culture of philanthropy, maintaining a dynamic portfolio of prospects, and ensuring appropriate stewardship of current donors and stakeholders.
To raise philanthropic gifts for the University of Warwick, primarily in support of scholarships, widening participation, and unrestricted funding, and contributing to Development’s aspiration to lead a threefold increase in income
To establish a culture of philanthropy for the benefit of departments.
To maintain a dynamic portfolio of prospects, ensuring appropriate stewardship of current donors and stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, cultivate and develop relationships with potential donors and advocates, including: alumni, individuals, corporations, charitable trusts and foundations by:
Agree individual short/medium/long term strategies and goals with the Senior Philanthropy Manager as driven by the Major and Leadership Giving KPIs.
Regularly analysing and consulting held data to pursue relationships according to strategy.
Planning and managing targeted events and media campaigns as driven by agreed goals.
Execute and contribute to fundraising strategy and threefold increase in income.
To maintain a dynamic portfolio of prospects, ensuring appropriate stewardship of current donors and stakeholders.
Work with academics and professional services staff to secure philanthropic donations, by providing specialist advice and insight on philanthropy and donor relations.
To maintain accurate records consistent with good GDPR practice, using standard office procedures.
