Do you have experience manage mobilization of the community to promote hygiene practices, public sanitation, with more emphasis on monitoring latrine use, water collection/storage, environmental sanitation, and hand washing practices

Do you have experience in Implement and supervise the Public Health Promotion activities in the project area in interactive and participatory manner

Do you have experience take part in training delivery at community level -including women’s groups and Child to Child activities, CLTSH, CHAST etc 

The Role:

This role is responsible for Leading the implementation of Oxfam led public health promotion component of WASH response with close support from Public Health Promotion Team Leader WASH Coordinator and PHE/PHP Officers working with key stakeholders including UNHCR, ARRA, and other implementing partners to ensure a co-ordinated response and adherence to standards.

What we are looking for: 

To work directly with local communities to promote good hygiene standards. This includes training mobilizers and key community members on health promotion and disease prevention. The role also involves leading a team of Hygiene Promoters in the field, ensuring that activities are culturally appropriate for different locations and target populations, including both communal centres and host communities

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • Relevant qualification such as a degree or Diploma in Public Health, Health Officer, Health Education or Environmental health science from a recognized academic institution. Extensive, relevant experience in the field of WASH may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications, but not the other way around. Environmental Health science background is a direct fit for this post.
  • At least two years of post-qualification experience in community-based Public Health Promotion projects within refugee communities.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in various techniques of hygiene promotion and AWD (Acute Watery Diarrheal) preparedness/response.
  • Experience in developing training materials and strong training skills. Knowledge of and experience with community-based interventions using participatory methodologies (e.g., CHAST, CLTSH, PHAST) and enhancing the sustainability of implemented technologies
