Start Date: JanuaryA highly reputable secondary school and sixth form in Kensington is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Physics to join its permanent staff team from January 2025. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a prestigious educational environment, dedicated to nurturing academic excellence and fostering a passion for learning among students.Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality Physics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-level.
- Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Preparing students for external examinations, ensuring they achieve their full academic potential.
- Collaborating with the Science Department to develop and share best practices in teaching and learning.
- Providing academic support and guidance to students, including offering extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintaining a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes the school’s values of respect, integrity, and academic excellence.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): The candidate must possess QTS and have relevant teaching experience in secondary education, ideally within a UK setting.
- Subject Expertise: A strong academic background in Physics, with a degree in Physics or a closely related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Physics curriculum up to A-level.
- Teaching Experience: Proven UK experience of teaching Physics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Passion for Physics: A genuine enthusiasm for Physics, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to Professional Development: A dedication to continuous professional development, staying abreast of current educational practices and innovations in teaching Physics.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in contributing to the development of the school’s Science curriculum.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities, particularly those related to Physics or Science.
- A willingness to take on leadership or mentoring responsibilities within the department.
