Salary: £ 37.89 per hour

The University of Sheffield International College is seeking a Physics tutor to teach on our Foundation Level Physics module. The post holder will be part of the College’s Science Team. 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • The Physics tutor will be responsible for teaching Physics, a Level 3 module delivered to groups of international students, in both classroom and laboratory based sessions.  The teaching role includes marking assessments and the provision of feedback to students.  The Physics module is similar in range/ level as GCE Physics curricula in the UK.

  • The successful candidate will be competent in the use of IT skills related to teaching, including the use of VLEs.

  • The post holder may also act as a module coordinator.  This involves leading the teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance procedures, and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date.  The role also requires the creation of both formative and summative assessments.

  • The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute to meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and work to deadlines.

    ABOUT YOU

  •  A degree in a Physical Science or Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience of teaching Physics or a related discipline at RQF level 3 or above (A-level/ Foundation level).

  • Experience of assessment marking at a minimum of RQF level 3 or above. 

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

  • Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills, using a Virtual Learning Environment (e.g. Blackboard)
