We have an exciting opportunity in the Faculty of Engineering and Design Placement Team for someone looking to use their administrative and interpersonal skills to make an impact on student employability.
Our engineering and architecture undergraduates undertake a placement in industry as part of their degree. This is a varied and vital role in providing administrative support to students, the placement team, academic colleagues and industrial partners.
You will be a motivated administrator who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office and have either experience of or interest in learning how to develop Virtual Learning Environments such as Moodle. You will be managing our team’s IT systems so will have a good level of computer literacy and a keen interest in developing processes to make efficiencies or improve the student experience.
You will have good writing skills in order to communicate professionally with industrial partners and also develop student resources. You should have high levels of attention to detail to ensure accurate records and systems are maintained as well as the organisational skills for running events.
We are a supportive team of five Placement Officers, one Placement Manager and one Placement Administrator with the team a mixture of full-time and part-time staff. We benefit from being embedded within the Faculty but also maintain strong links with the central careers service and other Faculty Placement teams. We are a student and industry facing team who enjoy supporting students to secure and start their first professional roles in industry.
You will be supported in developing your knowledge of Education Software by our Technology Enhanced Learning Team.
The team are currently following a hybrid working pattern. We are a student and industry facing team so 60% of our time is on campus.
