District’s responses to all planning matters from planning applications and local and
neighbourhood plan consultations, to national policy and legislation consultations, in line
with our wider policy positions.
A bit about us…
Friends of the Lake District is an influential landscape conservation charity, founded in 1934
by campaigners who believed passionately in protecting the beautiful landscapes of Cumbria, and
90 years on we remain committed to this cause. Over the next three years we’ll be delivering a
new strategy for the charity, based on months of careful research and consultation. As a
result, we’re expanding and bringing new resources into many areas of the organisation to help
make us fit for the next 90 years. You’ll be joining us at a great time to build on our
successes and help shape our future.
And what about you…
We want you to have a passion for what we do and be committed to do your very best for our amazing organisation. This role will work closely with our Head of Policy & Planning to build on our reputation for strong, effective contributions to planning proposals and consultations both locally and nationally. You will need to be adaptable. It’s really important that you are a collaborator, someone who likes working with others, because we will need to you to liaise with colleagues from across the organisation to ensure our planning and policy function forms a thread that runs throughout the organisation, informing our campaigning, fundraising, membership and engagement work.
