And, we value your commitment to treat every person on our team with respect, helping us to operate safely, protect the environment and make a positive contribution to our local communities.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYBased at the Detour Lake Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Plumber / Gas Fitter to join our Site Services and Infrastructure team, reporting to the Site Services Supervisor.Detour Lake is the second largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potential. The open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometres by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt. The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour Lake operation has a mine life of approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.Agnico Eagle Mines’ Detour Lake Mine is situated on the traditional homelands of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation, Moose Cree First Nation, and Taykwa Tagamou Nation. This ensures that we can consider your application appropriately in line with our dedication to supporting our Partner Nations.The Plumber / Gas Fitter will be responsible to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all gas, water and sewer as well as oil boiler systems and equipment across the Detour Lake Mine Site.RESPONSIBILITIESYour responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all applicable gas equipment;
- Perform repairs and maintenance on all water and sewer distribution systems;
- Perform repairs and maintenance on all used oil boilers;
- Actively participate in developing and building preventative maintenance schedules and objectives;
- Support all departmental initiatives with a concentration on preventative maintenance and maintain the safe operation of all applicable units;
- Communicate with other trades worker to coordinate maintenance activities;
- Complete work orders as assigned by the Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor;
- Report back to Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor regarding status and completion of assigned work.
QUALIFICATIONSOur ideal candidate has:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an industrial or mining setting;
- Plumber Trades License;
- Designation as an Oil Burner Technician;
- Minimum G2 Gas Technician license;
- Basic computer skills;
- Knowledge in SAP is considered an asset;
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
