Post Doctoral Fellow, Jane and Ron Graham Centre for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)Primary Purpose: The Jane and Ron Graham Centre for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated post-doctoral fellow to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the Director of SoTL, Dr. Melanie Hamilton, in developing and implementing innovative SoTL programming and research, as well as teaching courses within our graduate SoTL program.Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of SoTL to design, develop, and evaluate SoTL initiatives and programs.
  • Teach and co-teach graduate-level courses in the SoTL program, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Conduct research in the field of SoTL, contributing to the advancement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, seminars, and conferences related to SoTL.
  • Mentor graduate students and support their academic and professional development.

Education: The ideal candidate should have recently completed a doctoral (PhD or EdD) in Education or discipline-based education research. To be hired as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, researchers must be within 5 years of the date at which they received their PhD or EdD.Required Experience and skills:

  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Skilled in writing for academic publications.
  • Teaching experience at the higher education level.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to support interdisciplinary research.
  • Experience in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

Expectations:

  • On-Site Presence: The postdoctoral fellow is expected to be predominantly on-site at the SoTL Centre. This in-person presence is crucial for effective collaboration, teaching and participation in SoTL initiatives and events
  • Remote Work: While the primary expectation is for on-site work, there is flexibility to occasionally work from home, as agreed upon with the Director of the SoTL Centre. This arrangement is designed to support work-life balance while maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the role.
