Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Position Summary:The Fon lab is looking for a postdoctoral fellow (PDF) based at to contribute to the establishment of a robust induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based platform to screen for Parkinson’s disease (PD) phenotypes in human cell models. The PDF will expand and validate our suite of human iPSC-based PD-relevant cellular assays using established PD gene variants as benchmarks. They will also implement within the standardized platform the use of CRISPR interference- and activation-based iPSC systems to more accurately model endogenous PD risk gene perturbations. They will characterize and compare phenotypic features of PD in various PD models, including neuronal and microglial cultures. They will also be expected to develop and pursue their own academic project within the platform, in line with the interests of the lab.The PDF will be based at the Montreal Neurological Institute ( ) under the supervision of Dr. Edward Fon, and will have the opportunity to interact closely with the Early Drug Discovery Unit at the Neuro, as well as with the Neuro community at large.Initial appointment would be for 1 year with possibility of renewal.Academic Qualifications Required

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology, or closely related discipline.
  • Experience in cell culture is mandatory, experience in iPSC culture is a plus
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
