To this extent, the development of accurate and reliable microstructural models is key toward end-use mechanical properties prediction at the design stage. This project takes place in an ongoing effort toward the development of such models for age hardenable aluminium alloys. Many challenges remain to overcome, notably regarding the modeling of precipitation and dissolution in 6xxx, 7xxx and die casting series of alloy, as well as the segregation behavior in die casting. Additional criterions need to be taken into account to deploy a complete model such as solid solution strengthening and strain hardening. Having these tools in hand will predict the material behavior as a function of its processing route and thermal profile. Finally, the model will be integrated into a finite element analysis (FEA) software to allow local mechanical properties prediction which is required to assist part geometry modification at the design stage.EducationPh.D. in metallurgy or material science. For information on certificates and diplomas issued abroad, please seeExperience
