Postdoctoral Position in Microfluidic In vitro Models for Women’s Urogenital and Reproductive Health Research

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for postdoctoral fellow positions, open immediately, to join Dr. Izadifar’s laboratory in the Urology Department, Boston Children’s Hospital, affiliated teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. The research team focuses on the application of cutting-edge technologies in tissue engineering, microfluidics, and bioengineering to develop advanced in vitro models for studying urogenital and reproductive health and related disease. The successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative research team and will lead research projects on women’s urogenital health and infection diseases. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with exceptional clinicians and scientists across multiple projects and institutions.
Qualifications:
- PhD and/or MD/PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Microbiology, Urogynecology, Obstetrics and Gynecology or related fields.
- Desired expertise in human cell cultures, organoids, Organ Chips, or other in vitro models, as well as biological and molecular assays.
- Previous experience with bacterial and viral organisms is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A strong track record of productivity, publications, and research excellence.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Primary responsibilities:
- Designing and executing experiments independently, analyzing data, and presenting research findings.
- Conducting literature reviews, preparing progress reports, writing manuscripts, and presenting work at scientific conferences.
- Collaborating with technologists and research assistants to carry out daily research activities.
