About the RoleA fully funded Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available to join a team led by Prof Susana Godinho to study the role of microtubule alterations in normal physiology and cancer. This project will be focused on understanding the cellular changes that occur downstream of microtubule acetylation and their implications in DNA damage response. Our laboratory uses various approaches, 2-/3-D cultures and mouse models, cutting-edge quantitative proteomics and imaging to understand microtubules impact cell physiology. We offer a vibrant and creative multidisciplinary environment, and the successful candidate will be supported to develop their scientific career and have an impact in the microtubule and cancer fields. More information about our research can be found here: https://www.godinholab.com/About YouWe are looking for a talented and motivated scientist to join our team who has already obtained a PhD (or is close to completion) in a relevant biological subject. Significant research laboratory experience in cell biology, tissue culture and microscopy are essential. Knowledge/experience in the microtubule field is essential. The post holder most be organized, have good communication and interpersonal skills. They will need to manage their time, performance and be able to solve complex problems.About the School/Department/Institute/ProjectThe Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations.
