Postdoctoral Research Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Veterinary Microbiologist to join the Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research, working in Labs based in the Sir William Dunn School in Oxford.

The successful candidate will join the Ineos Oxford Institute’s Animal Health Programme and play a central role strengthening the institute’s highly productive ongoing collaboration with China Agricultural University (CAU) and to link microbiology from the lab with real world farm environments. You will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the One Health debate and to collaborate and engage with major stakeholders in AMR. Research will focus on the development of antimicrobials/treatments against animal pathogens. The post holder will work within a team of chemists and microbiologists on drug discovery and development. 

It is essential that you hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD in Microbiology and/or Molecular biology (or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up the appointment). You will have extensive expertise in undertaking in-vivo poultry models including those relating to microbiome analysis, toxicity studies, drug tissue distribution assays, disease prevention studies and pharmacodynamics/kinetics. For this role, fluency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is required.
