OverviewAbout the roleAn exciting opportunity to join the Ciccarelli lab ( https://www.crick.ac.uk/research/labs/francesca-ciccarelli ) to study the drivers of cancer evolution, from its early appearance to its response to therapy. We are a multidisciplinary team combining computational and wet-lab approaches and are affiliated with the Francis Crick Institute, a pioneering biomedical research institute in London.We are seeking an independent and highly motivated computational postdoctoral fellow to lead their own projects, contribute to collaborative efforts and guide PhD students, if required. Our lab is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary and the ability to work in a team is essential. There are several projects currently ongoing in the lab and the candidate will have the opportunity to find their own niche of professional training and development.Examples of projects from the lab include identification of cancer drivers in individual patients using machine learning (Mourikis Nature Comms 2019, Nulsen Genome Medicine 2021); prediction of the causal interplay between cancer genes and the immune microenvironment using statistical models (Misetic Genome Medicine 2023); development of a software for tissue imaging data and clustering of rare cell populations (Bortolomeazzi Nature Comms 2022, Martens, Bioinformatics 2023).About YouThe successful candidate will be responsible to conduct statistical and computational analysis on large volumes of genomic, transcriptomic and tissue imaging data. They will have a strong background in computational genomics and statistics applied to biology.
