About the RoleThe main aim of this post is to identify and investigate novel pathways in pituitary adenoma development. The candidate will work with both human-derived material, mice models, and cell lines. The post-holder will be the key scientist on the project, which is led by Prof Márta Korbonits and Dr Federica Begalli . The post is part of a close collaboration with a pharmaceutical company. The post-holder will be part of the group of three postdoctoral fellows, two clinical fellows, a PhD student and a technician. The post-holder will have the opportunity to participate in lab meetings, departmental research meetings, and will be given the opportunity to co-supervise students. The post-holder will have the opportunity to gain novel molecular biology and in vivo animal research techniques and attend scientific conferences.About YouThe candidate should have a PhD and ideally post-doctoral experience in molecular biology, and in vivo animal research experience is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to have a productive track record, and experience working in a laboratory. The post-holder will work independently in the lab and have experience in a variety of techniques that span from tissue culture to molecular biology, ideally including cell culture, immunoassays, immunoblotting, in situ hybridisation, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy.About the School/Department/Institute/ProjectThe position is within the Centre for Endocrinology at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London at the Charterhouse Square campus.
