Job DescriptionGrade UE07: £40,247 to £47,874 per annum, pro rata if part timeSchool of Physics & Astronomy / College of Science and EngineeringFull time: 35 hours per weekFixed term: for 36 monthsThe Opportunity:The Institute for Condensed Matter and Complex Systems is recruiting one Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr Steven Thomson on the EPSRC funded project “Disorder in Open Quantum Systems”.The successful candidate will aid in the development of new numerical and analytical tools for the study of open quantum systems in two dimensions, with an emphasis on investigating thermalisation and equilibration in disordered quantum systems. Experience in high-performance computing and GPU acceleration will be beneficial, but not essential. This role offers significant scope for exploring fundamental physics in novel parameter regimes, including those relevant to cutting-edge quantum technologies.This post is full-time, however we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
