Job Description:Grade UE07: £39,347 – £46,974 per annum.College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies / Roslin Institute.Fixed-term: Funded until 31st August 2027.Full-time – 35 hours per week).The Opportunity:The Roslin Institute of the University of Edinburgh is offering a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the group of Prof Mike McGrew. This position is funded as part of a BBSRC grant associated with the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH) . The post will contribute to establishing precision breeding in chicken to achieve step changes in poultry productivity by climate adaptation and develop surrogate host chicken suited to countries with existing legislation and regulations in place for genome edited animals.This post is full-time (35 hours per week).Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A skilled molecular biologist trained to PhD level, or PhD nearing completion (Desirable).
  • Robust expertise in stem cell culture.
  • Evidence of ongoing quality research output involving CRISPR/Cas9 technology (Desirable).
  • Experience in avian/mammalian embryology (Desirable).
