Job Description:UE Grade 07 £39,347 – £46,974 per annumPostdoctoral Research AssociateCollege of Science and Engineering/School of Physics and Astronomy/Institute for Condensed Matter and Complex SystemsFixed term: 3-year positionFull time: 35 hours per weekThe Opportunity: Evaporation of Huge Droplet Arrays on a SurfaceDespite the large body of work investigating single droplets, there is very little research into how large arrays of droplets evaporate collectively. This deficiency is even more surprising given the applications to disease transmission, crop spraying, evaporative cooling and inkjet printing. In this project you will develop experimental approaches to create, control and monitor complex arrangements of droplets. You will compare your results to latest numerical calculations and theoretical predictions and actively seek commercial applications of your findings.This is a fixed term 3-year position, full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.Your skills and attributes for success:
