About the RoleApplications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position based at the William Harvey Research Institute in Charterhouse Square to study how oxidants signal in the cardiovascular system. The project will be hosted by the Eaton lab: www.qmul.ac.uk/whri/people/academic-staff/items/eatonphilip.htmlAbout YouThe successful candidate will investigate how oxidants signal to control the function of the healthy heart or arteries and whether such events are altered during disease. There is flexibility in the precise focus and experimental approach, and this will be tailored to fit the interests, skills and training ambitions of the successful applicant.A variety of methods and skills are suitable for this position and may include those related to molecular biology (cell culture, DNA and protein analyses, fluorescence imaging, redox biochemistry, proteomics, RNA-Seq, CRISPR editing) and physiology (isolated heart perfusion, arterial myography, echocardiography, blood pressure telemetry, electrophysiology). Experience with disease models, such as diabetes, hypertension or other cardiac stress scenarios are also welcomed.The successful candidate requires a PhD degree in a biological, medical, or chemical sciences discipline, with a good track record in publishing their work in leading journals using some of the methods and skills listed above .About the School/Department/InstituteThe position is within the Clinical Pharmacology & Precision Medicine , William Harvey Research Institute.
