Job Description:Grade UE07: £40,247 to £47,874 per annumInstitute of Quantitative Biology / Biochemistry and Biotechnology /School of Biological Sciences / CSEFull time: 35hrs per weekFixed Term: for 9 months – Start date 1st January 2025We are looking for an experienced researcher to investigate translatable markers for high quality protein production in Chinese hamster ovary cell lines, the typical cell factory used for the production of high value biopharmaceuticals.The Opportunity:You will join an international team researching new methods for process analytical testing in Chinese hamster ovary cell lines. Using state-of-the-art liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods and flow injection real-time metabolomics, you will identify small molecules associated with product quality markers and work with partners in the National Institute for Bioprocess Research and Training in Dublin, and the Goodacre lab at the University of Liverpool to translate these measures into robust monitoring tools.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry or mammalian bioprocessing
  • Solid foundation in biochemistry
  • Mammalian cell culture experience
  • Strong understanding of appropriate data analysis and statistical skills
