Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS)This UKRI funded post is available from 1 October 2024 – 1 July 2025 (with the possibility of extension for a maximum of three additional years).We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements.The postYou will work with Dr Rebecca K. Helm in a new evidence-based research centre in the University of Exeter Law School.The post will involve research in empirical law and psychology and law, primarily on a project examining memory and testimony evaluation in legal contexts. This research will utilise a range of techniques including normative legal research, empirical research, and behavioural and neuroimaging experimental work.In addition to conducting research, you will contribute to the writing of books, papers, and articles, present work at national and international conferences, and contribute to seminars or other events associated with the project.About youThe successful applicant will:

  • have an interest in psychology and law and empirical law
  • be able to develop research objectives and make presentations at conferences and other events
  • possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study
  • be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required
  • be able to conduct experimental work, and some knowledge of empirical research methods or neuroimaging research methods is desired.
