Job description
The Rigden lab translates protein bioinformatics methods to applications in structural biology and elsewhere. As part of the CCP4 software consortium, we are looking for a PDRA to develop methods that exploit Deep Learning structure prediction methods for the benefit of structural biologists. The work, in collaboration with CCP4 partners and building on preliminary data, will develop software to validate biomolecular interfaces. It also covers development of bespoke Molecular Replacement methods to fully exploit RNA structure predictions.You should have a PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related relevant area. You should have excellent programming skills and experience of research in computational and/or structural biology. The post is available from September 2024 for three years.Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.For full details and to apply online, please visit:£38,205 to £42,978 per annum
