About the RoleThis Postdoctoral Research Associate in Behavioural Science role is part of an exciting strategic development to build world-leading behavioural science research within the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis.The successful candidate will work on a study evaluating the use of population-based genetic testing for the prevention and early detection of cancer (PROTECT-C).About YouYou will have a PhD or equivalent postgraduate research experience in Health Psychology or a similar discipline and undergraduate degree in relevant subject (Psychology) or equivalent experience.You will have considerable experience carrying out in-depth qualitative interviews and analysing qualitative data (e.g. thematic analysis) and experience of research in health psychology or another applied health discipline. Knowledge of genetic testing or cancer screening would be an advantage.About the Institute & CentreThe Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, over 100 PhD students and c500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED) brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, cancer screening and detection and early diagnosis across two units. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU, Director, Sasieni).About Queen Mary
