Department of Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, South Parks Road, OX1 3QRAbout the roleApplications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Catalysis for Organic Hydrogenations to work under the supervision of Professor Kylie Vincent for a period of up to 12 months. The project involves research and development in the area of chemo/bio catalysis for hydrogenation of nitrogen-containing compounds. The project is funded through the Innovation Centre for Applied and Sustainable Technologies (iCAST), run between the Universities of Bath and Oxford. The Vincent group are a diverse and collaborative team of researchers who work together to unite chemo and bio catalysis to provide innovative solutions for more sustainable chemical synthesis.Find out more about the Vincent research and groupAbout youApplicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires expertise in organic synthesis, and skill in analytical methods including NMR, GC and HPLC, and an interest in sustainable chemistry. Ideally you will also have experience in catalysis and hydrogenation reactions. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines and to interact with iCAST consortium.The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road, OX1 3QR and is available as soon as possible.Application ProcessApplications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your application.
