Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemistry (Synthesis and Characterisation of New Porous Materials) Grade 7

University of Liverpool

Applications are invited for an ambitious scientist with a strong track record in the synthesis and characterisation of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF) and/or other classes of porous materials.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team of researchers to develop new flexible porous materials and exploit their dynamics in separation and catalysis.

You will have a PhD in chemistry or materials science, a strong publication record, a pro-active approach and strong expertise in synthesis and characterisation relevant to the project (e.g. organic synthesis, MOF or zeolite synthesis and characterisation, catalytic performance evaluation).

The post is available until 31st January 2026.

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
