About the role:This is your chance to work on a super-exciting (18 month) project to study new and existing CORM compounds on macrophage signalling and differentiation, and quickly complete a paper. The work will involve highly sophisticated analyses of macrophage signalling and differentiation including measurements of cell signalling, metabolism and RNA-Seq so includes enormous training opportunities.What you would be doing:Research Duties:

• To take initiatives in the planning of research
• To direct the work of small research teams
• To identify and develop suitable techniques, and apparatus, for the collection and analysis of data
• To conduct data analysis
• To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
• To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
• To write reports for submission to research sponsors
• To present findings to colleagues and at conferences
• To submit publications to refereed journals
• To provide guidance to staff and students
• To attend relevant workshops and conferences as necessary
• To develop contacts and research collaborations within the College and the wider community
• To promote the reputation of the Group, the Department and the College

What we are looking for:

• PhD
• Highly motivated individual
• Strong interest in macrophages
• Good background in cell culture
• Experience with cell and molecular biology
• Backgrund in immunology, pharmacology, cell biology or closely related discipline
• Good member of interdisciplinary team
