This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative research project between the University of Reading’s School of Pharmacy and the Royal Berkshire Hospital, focused on advancing personalized respiratory treatments! We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to drive the development of patient-specific lung models through cutting-edge fluid mechanics and machine learning applications.In this role, you will play a vital part in optimising respiratory drug delivery for diseases such as COPD and asthma. Working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, you will develop computational models, analyse drug particle behaviour, conduct Andersen Cascade Impactor (ACI) experiments, and contribute to high-impact publications. This position offers valuable experience in both computational and experimental methods, along with opportunities for collaboration with healthcare and mathematical experts.The ideal candidate will have:

• A PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for computational modelling
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and respiratory drug delivery
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
