About the roleApplications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Inorganic Materials Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Ludmilla Steier for a period of up to 36 months.The project Towards Efficient Solar Fuel Production with Hybrid Polymer-Inorganic Photocatalysts involves developing and optimizing polymer- and inorganic-based photocatalytic systems for CO2 photohydrogenation and hydrogen evolution with a particular focus on the design and understanding of their surfaces when modified with single atom, atomic cluster- or nanoparticle co-catalysts.The project is funded by the Royal Society but aims to develop a partnership with the South Korean Partner Institution Kyungpook National University (KNU), leveraging state-of-the-art facilities and methodologies at both institutions in a multidisciplinary environment.Find out more about our research and group hereAbout youApplicants must hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related area prior to taking up the appointment. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, organised self-starter; who can work with a minimum of supervision but at the same time extract the benefits of an excellent research environment. The project requires expertise in atomic layer deposition and catalysis ideally with experience in single-atom and atomic cluster deposition and advanced characterisation as well as in photocatalysis.You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, working in the Physical & Theoretical Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3QZ and is available as soon as possible.Application ProcessApplications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your application.
