A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the group of Royal Society Research Professor A. I. Cooper FRS to carry out research in machine-learned computational methodologies with a primary focus on organic materials chemistry. You will be an ambitious individual motivated to produce step-change advances in new materials by implementing new and existing machine learning and AI methods. You should have a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Materials Science. This post would be ideal for a curious scientist who enjoys teamwork, maintains an up-to-date knowledge of their field and is keen on sharing knowledge and training other group members.The criteria for appointment will be skills and motivation, rather than a narrower view of publication record or specific sub-discipline. For example, the appropriate candidate could be a machine/deep learning practitioner who wants to apply their skills to chemical data and materials challenges. The project will be supervised by Professor Andrew Cooper FRS, and it will be based the Materials Innovation Factory. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a unique field and gain experience that could help to launch a career either in academia or in industry.
