Job description

As part of new ERC Starting Grant funded by UKRI Horizon Europeguarantee focused on development of Operando 4D scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) to be employed to study the degradation processes in beyond Li-ion battery systems as well as implementation of Compressed Sensing signal processing technique to minimise electron beam damage duringbattery cycling. The goal of both of these sub-projects is to make transformative advances in battery imaging development strategies and workflow by using the unique direct visualisation capabilities available at Albert Crewe Centre for Electron Microscopy at University of Liverpool leading to groundbreaking understanding of processes dominating the degradation performances in energy storage systems.You should have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.The post is fixed term and is available until 1 January 2028.The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity.
