Postdoctoral Research Associate/Research Assistant (Grade 6/7)

The group of Professor Andy Jones is looking for a bioinformatics Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the “PanOryza” project (UK-USA-Philippines), aimed with creating pan gene, protein and pathway set for *Orzya sativa* (rice) for 16 platinum standard genomes, covering major domesticated varieties and ~25 wild relatives. You will develop software for pan gene set creation and visualisation, and analyse omics data for genome / proteome annotation. Results will be disseminated through partner databases Ensembl, UniProt, SNP-Seek and Plantoeome.

You should have experience in bioinformatics, be a strong coder, with experience of omics.  The post is for up to 16 months.

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
