Fixed-term from 01st January 2025 until 30th June 2028, full-timeWe are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the research group of Dr. Sarah De Val at the University of Oxford. Our lab studies the different regulatory pathways which control gene expression within the vasculature, with an emphasis on transcriptional regulation of endothelial heterogeneity.The successful applicant will lead on a research project aiming to understand how arterial identity and differentiation is regulated, and to identify novel strategies to induce and improve arterial growth to prevent ischemia and stimulate tissue repair.Responsibilities will include in vitro and in vivo enhancer analysis in human cell lines, animal and zebrafish models, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq and ATAC-seq experiments on variety of cell types, and knock-down, over-expression and chemical screens in both in vitro and in vivo settings. You will be required to manage your own academic research and administrative activities, write up results for publication in international peer-reviewed journals and prepare scientific reports in order to represent the research group at external forums.The successful applicant will have experience in the field of gene regulation, and in using zebrafish as an experimental model.
