We’re in search of a postdoctoral researcher to check the neuronal circuitry and behavior between totally different bugs in an effort to know how animal behaviours evolve. The recruited postdoc will develop genetic instruments for cell type-specific labeling and trans-synaptic tracing within the insect visible system. This venture can be funded by an ERC Beginning grant, which is working till August 2026.

The postdoc will adapt and develop Drosophila genetic instruments in different bugs. They may then use these instruments to check neuronal circuitry and behavior primarily based on present single-cell sequencing information.

The postdoc will work in a group, which was established in 2021 on the Institut Jacques Monod. The group “Comparative developmental neurobiology” is led by Nikos Konstantinides. The work surroundings is worldwide and a great stage of communication in English is crucial.
