Duration: Maximum of 54 days within a period of 9 months

  

Scope of Work:

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the BLIC National Coordinator, the Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Assessment and Needs Analysis:
    • Participate in the selection of beneficiaries.
    • Collaborate with chosen beneficiaries to develop individualized care plans to improve their wellbeing, employability, and socio-economic status.
  • Social Services Coordination:
    • Work closely with program participants to plan and navigate available social services, both within and outside of the project.
    • Facilitate referrals to government agencies, civil society organizations, and local & regional initiatives in areas such as health, banking, housing, seed capital access, education, poverty reduction schemes, online courses, and so on.
  • Psychosocial Support:
    • Liaise with project psychologist to assist participants with accessing broader psychosocial support to address issues related to health, neurodiversity, learning/developmental challenges, discrimination, violence, self-acceptance, and so on where necessary.
    • Liaise with project psychologist, partner CSO, local formal & informal transgender networks and organisations to host support group sessions and/or other appropriate group activities.
  • Advocacy and Outreach:
    • Connect LGBTI organizations and selected departments or entities to which participants are likely to be (beforehand where possible) to mitigate participants’ risk of exposure to transphobia.
    • Participate in awareness-raising activities to combat stigma and discrimination against transgender and gender diverse persons.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate but anonymous records of services provided and prepare regular progress reports for UNDP.
    • Contribute to the creation of case studies and success stories for knowledge sharing and advocacy purposes.
    • Facilitate the recording of data on human rights violations experienced by the beneficiaries (with their informed consent) in the partner CSO’s existing database.
