Position description

Are you the creative, energetic, eloquent Press & Communication Manager that will join our team, promoting the interest of SMEs in Europe? You will be responsible for developing and implementing the external and internal communication strategy, incl. communication plan and events. Your tasks will range from engaging with EU press & media, over event organisation, to maintaining the website and social media accounts and ensuring good media coverage on positions taken and activities organised by SMEunited. Moreover you will support member organisations with communications on EU files.

Do you like to work accurately and are you very organised? Can you easily handle the most common MS Office applications and communication software? Are you proficient in English, and also master other European languages? Are you a socially skilled person ready to work in an international environment, do you have a flexible attitude and do you like to work in an independent way in a small team? Main roles and responsibilities

  • Create and implement the external and internal communication strategy in line with the organisation strategy (analyse target groups, content and communication channels, identify and develop ways to address target audience, create communication and events plan, evaluate, etc.)
  • Develop, coordinate and disseminate content for communication channels (copy writing and editing press releases, articles, social media, reports, newsletters, editing for communication with members, etc.)
  • Build and maintain a strong network with journalists, press & comms from member organisations/EU institutions/stakeholders, database management, subcontractors
  • Promote and manage the branding and visibility of SMEunited (ensure media coverage, maximise opportunities for media messaging, maintain and manage website and social media, organise events, create visual imagery, support organisation of statutory meetings)
