Salary: FTE is the starting salary point on the Consultant payscale or GP00 on the GP Educator scale. Can remain on the NHS Pension scheme or can join the USS Pension scheme if required.
Contract: This is a fixed term position for 1 session per week (0.1 wte) until July 2025
Location This position will require working across all health boards in Wales, although the majority is likely to be virtual

Main duties of the role include (full list in JD):
To work closely with hospital specialists, GPs, Medical Directors, Clinical Directors across Wales to develop, evaluate and quality assure the clinical curriculum in these areas.
To work closely with the GEM team in Swansea and an enthusiastic, dedicated PCA team, to liaise with clinical, academic and administrative staff in Swansea and the partner health boards regarding developments relating to the clinical curriculum.
To liaise with partner hospitals to identify, develop and enhance student learning opportunities.
To liaise with the undergraduate management staff in the relevant health boards to identify, develop and enhance student learning opportunities.
To troubleshoot concerns raised by and about students on clinical placement, including liaising with Senior Clinical Tutors in GP practices and partner hospitals where relevant.
To monitor students during placements to ensure they are achieving their learning outcomes, to discuss areas of concern and respond appropriately. This may involve co-ordinating or delivery of teaching sessions to enhance their learning experience.
Essential Criteria (full list in JD):
A qualified Medical Practitioner working in Wales.
Demonstrable track record of teaching in either Undergraduate or Postgraduate medicine.
Evidence of the ability to lead and effectively manage a team.
Excellent literacy, numeracy, and specialist IT skills relating to the appointment
Familiarity with virtual communication in the form of zoom and Microsoft teams
