Job summaryClatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust (CCC) is looking to appoint a Principal Clinical Scientist: Radiotherapy/Specialist Services to a permanent post. The Radiotherapy Physics group is responsible for the physics support to the Radiotherapy Business Unit at CCC.CCC has a large physics department with over 40 clinical scientists involved either in the provision of support to Imaging, Radiotherapy, including low-energy proton therapy, or in academic teaching. CCC has 10 Linear Accelerators (including a PPJV) across three sites with a Halcyon Linac offering Hypersight and SGRT due to come online in Spring 2025.The postholder will be responsible for assisting the Lead Consultant Clinical Scientists for Radiotherapy and Specialised Services in providing scientific support as directed. The postholder will be State Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).The post holder will act as a Medical Physics Expert as defined by the ionising radiation (medical exposure) regulations with respect to all aspects of Radiotherapy.Candidates that are not on the MPE register will be considered if they have a portfolio that is ready for submission or at least requires only minor amendment.
