We are searching for a Principal Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in the organisation. In this position, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning models. Your expertise in mathematics, statistics, and machine learning will be instrumental in devising scalable solutions to complex business challenges, establishing yourself as a technical leader within this organisation.Responsibilities:

  • Data Science Leadership: Lead a team of data scientists, providing mentorship and guidance to drive impactful results.
  • Model Development: Develop and deploy predictive models using Python, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Real-time Decision Making: Apply machine learning techniques to enable real-time decision-making at scale, enhancing business operations.
  • Strategic Insights: Utilise structured and unstructured data to derive strategic insights that drive business growth and innovation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Skills We Are Interested In:

  • Proficiency in Python & SQL
  • LLMs, NLP, and NLU
  • ML for real-time decision-making at scale
  • Reinforcement learning, Model Predictive Control, and Linear Programming
  • Auction mechanics & their application to derive optimal outcomes
  • ML system architecture & design
  • Production software development

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, including developing and deploying predictive models.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of applied mathematics and statistics, with a track record of driving business improvements through machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in packaging code for deployment and re-usability, with a solid understanding of software design patterns.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving business growth and innovation.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with online auctions optimisation and NLP-based applications.
  • Familiarity with modern software deployment practices, including CI/CD.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a technical field.
