CK Group are recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join a testing, inspection, certification, and engineering solutions company that operates across Marine, Energy, Infrastructure, Space and Defense industries.Our client are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Electrical Engineering Consultant to join their Asset and Product Consulting (APC) Business Line at their Surrey based office. In this role, you will spearhead the acquisition and execution of consultancy projects focusing on electrical plant assets such as Transformers, Generators, and Switchgear.Responsibilities:Your main duties will be:
- Lead the design, assurance, condition assessment, and failure investigation for Transformers, Generators, and Switchgear.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and develop new opportunities.
- Craft consultancy proposals, including technical approaches and pricing, in conjunction with our commercial team.
- Serve as Project and Technical Lead, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering consultancy projects.
- Mentor and develop the technical and consulting skills of less experienced team members.
Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will be/have:
- Educational Background: Minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM subject (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD). A postgraduate degree and Chartered Engineer status are desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Expertise in at least one, and proficiency in at least two of the following: Transformers, Generators, Switchgear. Expertise in at least one and proficiency in at least two of the following: Asset Design/Assurance, Condition Assessment, Failure Investigation.
- Consultancy Experience: Proven track record of delivering engineering consultancy projects on time and within budget, with strong client relationship management skills.
- Business Development Skills: Experience in winning engineering consultancy projects and knowledge of the petrochemical and/or renewable energy sector stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Excellent report writing skills, producing high-quality, objective, and concise technical consultancy reports.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel worldwide (10-25% of the time) and work on-site (10-15% of the time) for project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in tasking and supervising project team members.
- Safety and Professionalism: Safe and professional use of lab equipment.
