Situated within the Faculty of Health, the School of Nursing and Advanced Practice was established to enhance focus on undergraduate/postgraduate nursing and advanced multidisciplinary practice. The School has a long, proud history in nurse education and a sector-leading postgraduate provision. It has a reputation for its outstanding graduates and researchers, as well as for its significant portfolio which is growing each year with various local, regional, and national programmes. The School holds influence in the Advanced Practice agenda regionally and plays a key role in the development of the current and future health workforce.We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding individual as Principal Lecturer in Undergraduate Nursing on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Subject Head of Undergraduate Nursing you will work alongside Programme Leaders to develop our high-quality educational provision and responsive curricula. You will provide leadership over curriculum development and enhancement of the portfolio whilst also line managing academic staff engaged in teaching, research, and enterprise. Working closely with the Subject Head, you will be responsible for the academic development and delivery of high-quality taught programmes in undergraduate nursing, including apprenticeships. Of significant importance is the contributions you will be able to make to the research portfolio and development of research capability across the team. You will also be expected to be research active, engage in one of the Faculty’s research themes, and be part of our continued development. You will also be able to demonstrate a growing national and international research portfolio and make contributions to the REF.You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK), educated to Masters Level with either a PhD or making significant progress towards completion, and have experience within a relevant field of nursing including some experience of teaching pre-registration nursing and nursing associate students and/or apprentices.
